​​ANNOUNCEMENT

NON-BINDING EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (“EOI") FOR THE PROVISION OF A LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS (“LNG") STORAGE TANK IN PENGERANG, JOHOR, MALAYSIA ON A LONG-TERM COMMERCIAL LEASE AGREEMENT

Pengerang LNG (Two) Sdn. Bhd. (“PLNG2SB") is pleased to announce a non-binding EOI for a new proposed LNG storage tank in Pengerang, Johor, Malaysia for LNG storage and reload activities.

In supporting the growth in LNG emerging market in Asia, PLNG2SB is considering to build an additional LNG Tank (Tank 3) in Pengerang. The utilization of Tank 3 is for LNG to be brought into and stored solely for the purpose of LNG transhipment.

The Tank 3 is targeted to be completed / commercial operational date earliest by Q4 2025, subjected to the final FID date.

Interested parties are welcome to participate in this Non-Binding EOI and submit their proposal no later than 30th November 2021, by 4pm Kuala Lumpur time via email pgb.marketing@petronas.com

PGB's Gas Transmission and Regasification (GTR) Division operates and maintains our offshore Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Regasification Terminal in Sungai Udang, Melaka (RGTSU) and our onshore LNG Regasification Terminal in Pengerang, Johor (RGTP). RGTSU began its commercial operation in the second quarter of 2013, while RGTP began its commercial operation in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The facilities receive vessels carrying LNG from around the world and offer a wide range of services including:

  • LNG regasification  (Capacity: 500 mmscfd at RGTSU & 490 mmscfd at RGTP)
  • LNG reloading
  • Gassing Up Cooling Down

As part of the Malaysian Government's Third-Party Access framework for the domestic gas infrastructure industry, we welcome inquiries from potential new customers on matters regarding access to our facilities.
